Become a Comrade

Join Rotaract Chennai Comrades

Rotaract is Rotary International's movement for people aged 18–30 who want to lead, serve and grow together. Chennai Comrades is where that happens in this city — through projects you design, run and see through.

Leadership you actually practise

Chair a project, run a committee, lead a team. Every comrade gets a real portfolio, not a title on paper.

A network that opens doors

Connect with 30,000+ Rotaractors across District 3233 and Rotarians who mentor, hire and collaborate.

Community service with measurable impact

Environment, education, health and livelihood projects with tracked outcomes — not one-day photo ops.

Professional development

Workshops on public speaking, project management, design, finance and personal branding through the year.

Events, workshops and fellowship

District conferences, inter-club sports, retreats, installations and the fellowship that keeps it fun.

Global Rotaract citizenship

Access to global grants, international twin-club projects and Rotary's worldwide programmes.

Questions comrades ask

Who can join Rotaract Chennai Comrades?

Anyone aged 18–30 living, studying or working in and around Chennai. Students and working professionals are both welcome.

Is there a membership fee?

Yes — a nominal annual fee covers Rotary International and district dues plus club administration. The Membership Chair will share the current amount during your onboarding conversation.

How much time does it take?

Two club meetings a month plus the projects you choose. Most comrades give three to five hours a month, and more during a project they are leading.

I have never volunteered before. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Most comrades start with no experience. You will be paired with a project team and a mentor from your first month.
